Simon is a clinical psychologist who focuses on building strong, collaborative relationships with his patients. He takes a friendly, curious, and relaxed approach to treatment, helping patients feel at ease as they work together. His goal is to help his patients process unconscious emotions and conflicts, and early-life experiences while identifying patterns of thought and behaviour that contribute to their ongoing psychological suffering. Simon specialises in assisting patients with anxiety, depression, and relationships.
Simon is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. He has completed a Master of Clinical Psychology, a Bachelor of Psychological Science with honours, and is currently completing a PhD in psychology, focusing on anxiety and alcohol use. He has also undertaken a two-year clinical psychology registrar program, specialising in psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention, and is endorsed by the Psychology Board of Australia as a clinical psychologist.
Simon’s therapeutic training and experience mainly includes psychoanalytic psychotherapy, intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and mindfulness based approaches.
In addition to his psychological training, Simon brings a rich and diverse background to his practice. His previous careers as an engineer, professional musician, teacher, and published academic and author, along with his wide range of life experiences and meaningful relationships, deeply inform his therapeutic approach.
